Commisioners For Christ Ministry
Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry
Throughout the Bible and history, ministry to and with young people has enormous Biblical precedent. Noticeably, young people like; David, Joseph, Daniel, Josiah, Esther, Jeremiah, Mary, John Mark, and Timothy among others were used by God. CFCM acknowledges the place of the young people in the ministry and makes it a priority to draw youth into God’s Kingdom and to train them up as disciples of Jesus Christ, Deuteronomy 4:9-10; Psalms 22:30. Indeed, it is important for the truth of the Gospel to be passed down from generation to generation in order to grow the body of Christ. That’s exactly what CFCM is doing in the youth ministry, equipping and empowering young people right from high school to communicate the Gospel effectively, serve the body of Christ faithfully minister with integrity, and make a lasting impact for Christ.
In line with CFCM’s vision and mission, the youth are given meaningful and visible roles and real responsibilities to grow spiritually and to reinforce inclusiveness and acceptance. Additionally, through spiritual and social activities namely: mission trips, retreats, conventions, overnight hangouts (sleepovers), Christmas Cantata, more than a Song Worship service, etc., young people are able to connect, bond, build cohesiveness and a sense of belonging as well as exercise their God-given gifts and talents. The other hook for connecting young people to the ministry includes leadership opportunities, involvement in decision-making, planning of annual ministry events, and participation in infrastructure development (Ministry Retreat Centre). Furthermore, the transition from Youth to Couples Ministry is commendable, through bridal showers the youth are provided with meaningful information on building strong marriages and family. This also fosters continuity in the ministry.
