Commisioners For Christ Ministry
Annual Gold Conventions
ANNUAL GOLD CONVENTIONS
Since its inception, Commissioners for Christ Ministry has organized annual conventions every December as part of its discipleship program (with exceptions during the height of Covid 19 when the school calendar was disrupted). Camp attendants mainly comprising of high school students gather together for a five-day camp and are equipped with the word of God so that they can be more effective witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The concept behind the Annual Convention has always been thematic approach to scripture exposition, topical preaching and discussions followed by reflective Bible Studies and bonding sessions. It has always been a joy to see several hundreds of Students listening keenly as the word of God is shared in structured forums for the five days during the camp. The convention also presents an opportunity for CFCM missioners to be refreshed and reequipped in readiness to continue preaching the word in future missions.
During the convention, the ministry always partners with seasoned likeminded speakers to address specific Biblical topics. Although preference is given to Christian Union leaders, the convention equally grants opportunity for believers (young and old) to be grounded in the Word, trained in Character and equipped to fulfil the great commission and be fruitful witness in Christ. In addition to ministry of the word, students are inspired towards academic excellence, personal discipline and professional proficiency and ethics as well.
The cost of the convention is heavily subsidised through CFCM members’ contribution. While the tradition has been to meet in schools, we have now shifted to having the convention at Peniel Makuyu Retreat Centre. We continue looking forward to continue impacting life through the Annual Conventions.
The Conventions have been of great impact. Many students have been transformed into great ministers. They are now actively involved in missions some in CFCM and other wider body of Christ. Therefore, the convention remains a strategic forum for ministry enhancement and contributes immensely to the work of expanding the Kingdom of God.
